A Celebratory Post
Hello, world!
And yes, I can say world! Although I have no idea of who you are or if you even read my blog or just pass it on your random google adventures, I do know that there are people from every single continent (except Antarctica, penguins don't have internet, or access to computers... so sad) who have been on my blog! I'm sure I'll never know why but still, cool!
I have several tidbits of good news that I am so excited to share!
1. 13 more days until the release of Il Volo's debut CD in the US!! I am so excited!!! The other day, facebook posted a link to buy the album on international iTunes. I was so deliriously happy and tried to buy it for about a half hour, but it was to no avail.... That was a very dark day. But, 13 MORE FREAKING DAYS!!!! (please note that I realized that this is not the most important thing in my life, I just adore them so much)
2. I GOT THE JOB!!! It's not official, they still have to process my background check.... I'm pretty sure there's nothing on it.... I guess I'll find out. Anywho, it's a fantastic job! I'll be working in the shop on top of Pikes Peak! It's so cute and rustic. And the best part is that I get to work with two fantastic girls from church who are, get this, already my friends! So exciting!
3. I LOVE DENTAL ASSISTING!! Today was my second day of observing, and whoo boy, was it a doozy! I saw how to finish making a night guard, polish fillings, work on temporary crowns, AND I observed two teeth extractions! Goodness, it was sooooooooooooo bloody! The roots had an infection (which is why they were pulled.... I"m not sure, I forgot to ask) and the teeth themselves were so full of cavities that when the dentist applied the forceps, they shattered, making it even harder to pull. Then he had to saw the base of the tooth in half or thirds, depending on the roots, because the roots were too far apart to let the tooth come out nicely. Ugh, the whole thing looked so painful but the anesthetics did their job and the patient didn't feel a thing and even said that this was their best experience at the dentists because they were so nice and thoughtful. I'm really excited that I get to learn how to do all of this.
4. The assistant I was following today said that I look really young and that she would have guessed I'm 18! Mom says that is bad at my age, but whatever. I don't like growing up and I would also like to attribute looking young to exuding innocence which I think is good. But whatever.
Well, that's all my good news. The only downside is that I have been too busy to do insanity :( Plus, we have company and I don't feel comfortable doing it while he's here cause his bedroom's downstairs where I have to do it... Oh, well, I'll figure it out.
So here's to a great week and to me being an adult! Ish.
And because I love them, here's one of favorite songs by Il Volo:

Just tell your Uncle to do Insanity with you! Don't be embarrassed! And just so you know there are a lot of bored scientists living in Antarctica so I am sure someone there has read your blog by now!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on everything else.
Hehe, thanks! It actually didn't matter cause I got super sick and wasn't able to work out anyway but this week will be super!
