The Freshmen 15 - Myth or Fact?

The Freshman 15 is the nickname given to the amount of weight gain that most college students experience their freshman year. I have been warned several times by my parents that I could be one of them which scares the heck out of me considering I am not that slim to begin with. Today I did some research which told me that the number 15 is actually a myth and the average weight gain is actually 8 pounds, but this is the average which means there are those who lose a lot of weight and some who gain a lot of weight. With this information I have decided one thing, I do not want to be the one who gets the junk in the trunk leading me to this challenge, lose 15 lbs. instead of gaining 15 lbs in one semester, to be specific, my first semester at BYU-Provo. Crazy? That would be correct, but healthy and definitely possible.
